JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Project Data and Information Management [PDIM] department provides documentation management support for capital and betterment projects. PDIM manages information and document control activities for projects occurring across multiple states and business regions. Within a given geographic area, units are grouped into “PODS”.  A POD represents a group of PDIM document control specialists knows as “Local Customer Advocates” (LCA) who provide document control services for one or more projects that are underway at any given time at one or more generation stations.  LCA primary functions include the following:

    1. Develops strong, positive relationships with project owing customers within the assigned, facility, or (POD).
    2. Responsible, for gaining and maintaining specialized knowledge of customers, projects, and business processes associated with the assigned generation stations.
    3. Jointly responsible for success of all customer focused project centric document control initiatives within a given POD reporting directly to the Area Customer Advocate Lead (ACAL) and indirectly reporting to the “Regional Customer Interface Lead” (RCIL) and the PDIM Leadership Team
  • The workload for a LCA includes reporting on and managing data through production phases for multiple engineering construction projects that require all parties involved to exchange and collaborate on project information for short and or long periods of time. These parties include but are not necessarily limited to:
    1. Members of the Project Controls staff
    2. Engineering project managers
    3. Engineering project teams
    4. Multiple internal departments
    5. External engineering firms
    6. External equipment vendors
    This management and exchange of project data occurs on multiple technology toolsets/applications. Each project is unique in workflow, participation, setup, and scope, therefore requiring extensive and continuous communications around the administration of the data.
  • Duties of the LCA (Local Customer Advocate) at specific assigned location:
    • LCA supports PDIM and the Customer Focus Strategy activities
    • LCA directly provides support to a localized plant/engineering customer group
    • LCA manages project workload at assigned location
    • LCA receives, maintains and distributes electronic and physical project data following work practices set by PDIM leadership
    • LCA maintains quality within standard as set by employer and PDIM leadership
    • LCA coordinates with others to obtain new, missing or incomplete information
    • LCA provides ACAL with reports that are accurate and current
    • LCA provides ACAL with information related to obstacles, successes, concerns
    • LCA maintains stay ahead knowledge of local information and pending changes
    • LCA remains current on all PDIM policies and procedures
    • LCA attends meetings at plant and/or project areas
    • LCA attends PDIM meetings on and off site as requested/required

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Demonstrates a strong customer focus
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with and to a wide range of individuals
    • Is extremely proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products
    • Proven ability to work with large volumes of data in a wide variety of file types across multiple servers and collaboration applications/platforms
    • Able to learn and apply company and project standards to assigned work with little guidance
    • Able to communicate standards to customers;
    • Proven experience on construction engineering projects especially in tracking drawings and documents throughout the engineering and construction process
    • Proven experience in electronic data management (EDM) applications and processes
    • Able to operate multiple types of reproduction equipment (scanners, printers, plotters)
