JOB TITLE:  Dynamometer Test Technician

LOCATION: Indianapolis

JOB DESCRIPTION: Technicians install mechanical test setups under the direction of engineers and supervisors. They install test instrumentation and interface to data collection equipment, and program the test equipment as directed by the engineer. Following a prescribed test plan they operate the test stand to obtain required data, and are responsible for maintenance for the test cell equipment and housekeeping. Assist other technicians as needed, daily good attendance, good attitude, support a team environment, and display willingness to continually improve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the design and planning of test setups
• execute stand setup, includes transmissions, engines, dynes, brackets, instrumentation, etc.
• Select, install and operate test instrumentation and verify data accuracy
• Assures proper calibration of instrumentation
• Conduct testing per plan to achieve objectives
• Generate and/or assist in writing reports
• Participate in program planning and status reports
• Willingly share professional knowledge and experience with co-workers
• Maintain equipment and orderliness of work areas
• Observe applicable procedures and practices as delineated in the Test Operations Manual
• Has basic understanding of computer programming to modify durability test cycles

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Candidate must be a U.S. person (Citizen or US Permanent Resident) required
• Proficiency in written and spoken English required
• Ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations required
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required
• Must be willing to work any shift required
• Must have tool box and basic tools with expected mechanical aptitude required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, with significant additional computer understanding required
• Troubleshooting experience in electronic controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems preferred
• Basic knowledge of automatic transmission operation, clutches, controls, (both hydraulic and electrical), hydraulics, gears preferred
